                                --OFFICAL CALL FOR NOMINATIONS AND ELECTION NOTICE OF

                                DELEGATES FOR I.A.M.A.W. 37TH. CONVENTION of the GRAND LODGE

                                                                          September 7-13, 2008 

                                Nominations of Delegates for Grand Lodge IAMAW convention held in Orlando Florida September 7-13, 2008.

                                Nominations will be made Tuesday April 1, 2008 at 3:00 PM, 50 W. Oakton Street, Des Plaines IL

                                Nominations must be made from the floor by a member in good standing. Members may not nominate themselves.

                                Nominations MAY NOT! be submitted in writing. 

                                Members who are not present may be nominated but must have a letter on file with the Recording Secretary stating

                                they will accept nomination for a particular office. 

                                Qualifications for delegates will be followed as outlined in the IAMAW Constitution Art II Sec 2, and any other Grand Lodge,

                                District or Local Lodge by-laws that may be applicable.

                                A member will be considered not eligible to attend a Local Lodge meeting if:

                                1. The member is on a regularly scheduled workday during the meeting.

                                                     2. The member is confined due to a verifiable illness.

                                                     3. The member is on scheduled vacation.

                                                     4. The member is on authorized union business.

                                                     5. The member is on reserve military leave.

                                                     6. The member is on verified Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) leave. 

                                Immediately following the nominations meeting, the Recording Secretary will inspect the eligibility of each candidate.

                                It is the responsibility of the member to provide the necessary documentation to the Local Lodge Recording Secretary

                                immediately following the nominations meeting if the candidate believes he or she is qualified for less then the required

                                meetings. 

                                Election of candidates if necessary will be Tuesday May 6, 2008 for the hours of 06:00 to 18:00 at the Local Lodge

                                50 W. Oakton Street, Des Plaines, Illinois. 

                                                     ONLY MEMBERS IN GOOD STANDING REPRESENTED BY LOCAL LODGE 1487 ARE ELIGIBLE TO VOTE.

                                Absentee ballots will be furnished upon request, to members who reside in outlying areas of more then 25 miles from the

                                Local Lodge hall; members who are either confined because of verified illness, on vacation, on official IAMAW business

                                Approved by the Local, District, or Grand Lodge.  On leave qualified by family leave laws, or on employer travel Assignment,

                                or reserve military leave as the case may be.  Members entitled to and desiring an absentee ballot shall make

                                Any Members entitled to receiving an absentee ballot shall make a written request therefore to the Recording Secretary of the

                                Local Lodge by delivering in person or Mailing such request not later then 10 days before the election. MAY 25, 2008. 

                                 A written request to the Recording Secretary of the Local Lodge by delivering in person or by Official Government Mail to

                                 the Recording Secretary of the Local Lodge not later then the closing of the polls on the day of the election.

                                 IAM Constitution and Local Lodge Bylaws will be followed
